James McHale

James McHale is an Australian journalist and former lawyer.

McHale graduated from Murdoch University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Laws/Media, majoring in Radio. After completing his degree, he worked at Clayton Utz in 2007 and 2008.[1][2]

In February 2009, McHale joined the ABC, where he worked as a reporter, journalist and occasional stand-in presenter on radio and television in Western Australia. He will present the weekday evening news bulletin, replacing Karina Carvalho who leaves the role in December 2011.[3][4]

In December 2011, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation announced that McHale would replace Karina Carvalho and present the weekday bulletin of ABC News WA with Carvalho replacing Virginia Trioli whilst she is on maternity leave on ABC News Breakfast.
